Born in northern Minnesota, the oldest of two in a small-town family, Denise dreamed of being a professional wrestler, chasing that passion into the ring before life took her in a new direction. She was later taken hostage by a demon called Corporate America, but she slowly tunneled her way out with Andy and Red and found her true passion–comedy…I mean shopping for sparkly stuff.

Struggling with her identity for much of her early life, she transitioned in 2013, an act of courage that gave her the freedom to live authentically.

Inspired by comedians like Chris Rock and Iliza Shlesinger, and rock stars like Flo Rida and FGL, Denise discovered stand-up as a way to bring the fun back to funny.

Her debut special Bougie on a Budget is streaming now on Apple TV and Amazon Prime. She has also been featured in Variety and MSN.
